Quick answer

Is Hungary worth it?

All on 6, a full arch of fixed teeth supported by six implants, costs in Hungary from roughly €5,000 to €11,000 per arch, about £4,300 to £9,500, and commonly around €7,900, often a third to a half of UK pricing. Hungary is one of Europe's most established dental destinations, with a long track record and dentists registered with the Hungarian Dental Chamber. The value is genuine, but the work usually needs two trips.

Costs below are indicative ranges per arch, reviewed April 2025, and vary with the implant and bridge brands and whether you need grafting first. They are not a quote and not a promise of a result.

What it really costs

The price in Hungary, honestly.

Hungary, and Budapest in particular, built its reputation on dental work, which is why prices are well below the UK while standards at accredited clinics are high. An All on 6 places six implants in one jaw to carry a fixed bridge. The price depends on the implant brand, the bridge material, and whether you need extractions, a bone graft or a sinus lift first.

Indicative ranges, reviewed April 2025, in the currencies clinics most often quote. Not a quote and not a promise. Currency conversions are approximate and move with the exchange rate.

The real experience

Recovery, and the follow up.

All on 6 is usually a two trip process. On the first trip, lasting a few days to a week, the dentist removes any failing teeth, places the six implants, and fits a temporary bridge so you are not without teeth. You then fly home while the implants fuse with the bone, a process called osseointegration that takes roughly three to six months.

On the second trip, a few days, the dentist fits the final bridge once the implants have healed. If you need a bone graft or sinus lift first, that can add a further visit and several months. Build the travel, time off work and accommodation for both trips into your budget, not just the dental fee.

The follow up matters with implants because they need maintenance and occasional adjustment. A loose screw, a chipped tooth or a gum infection around an implant years later is awkward to manage from another country. Ask how warranty claims and adjustments are handled, whether a local dentist can service the system, and keep your full records and the implant brand details.

The risks of travelling here

What can go wrong.

Dental implants are well established and generally successful, but they are surgery, and doing the work abroad complicates the long term care that implants need.

Implant failure

Implants can fail to fuse or fail later, more so in smokers and people with uncontrolled diabetes or gum disease. Failure abroad means arranging repair from a distance.

Infection around the implant

Infection in the gum and bone around an implant can develop months or years later and can cost you the implant if untreated. It needs ongoing dental care.

Nerve injury and sinus issues

Lower jaw implants risk nerve injury causing lasting numbness, and upper jaw implants near the sinus can cause problems. A CT scan based plan reduces the risk.

Not enough bone

All on 6 needs adequate bone. Without it you need a graft or sinus lift first, which adds cost, healing time and often another trip.

Continuity of care

Implants need maintenance and occasional repair. A warranty is only useful if you can act on it, which is harder from abroad. Confirm how adjustments and claims work before you commit.

How to choose safely here

Questions before you pay.

A safe clinic answers all of these in writing without flinching. Vague answers, pressure to book quickly, and prices far below the market are the warning signs that matter most. We never name a clinic, so use these to judge any you are sent.

1
Is the dentist registered with the Hungarian Dental Chamber?
Implant work should be done by a registered dentist, ideally with implant and full arch experience. Ask for the name and registration.
2
Which implant and bridge brands do you use, and what is the warranty?
Named, well established implant brands can be serviced internationally. Ask for the brands in writing and what the guarantee covers and for how long.
3
Is the plan based on a CT scan?
A proper plan uses a CT scan to check bone and avoid nerves and the sinus. Ask to see the plan and whether grafting is needed.
4
How many trips and how long between them?
Confirm the number of trips, the healing gap, and what happens at each stage so you can budget the travel and time off.
5
What is the full price over both trips, and in what currency?
Get an itemised quote covering implants, the final bridge, any grafting, scans, nights and transfers, and the currency you pay in.
6
What if an implant fails or the bridge needs work?
Get the warranty and revision terms in writing, including who pays, whether a local dentist can service it, and whether a return trip is needed.

Common questions

The things everyone asks.

Is All on 6 in Hungary safe?

At an accredited clinic with a registered, experienced dentist and a CT scan based plan, outcomes can be comparable to home, and Hungary has a long dental track record. The main complication of going abroad is the long term maintenance implants need.

How much can I save versus the UK?

Indicatively, Hungary runs roughly €5,000 to €11,000 per arch, commonly around €7,900, against UK pricing of about £14,000 to £25,000 per arch. Confirm what each quote includes. Reviewed June 2026.

Why does it need two trips?

Implants must fuse with the bone before the final bridge goes on, which takes about three to six months. The first trip places the implants and a temporary bridge, the second fits the final one.

What if I do not have enough bone?

You may need a bone graft or sinus lift first, which adds cost, healing time and often another visit. A CT scan shows whether this applies to you.

What if something goes wrong once I am home?

Implants need maintenance and occasional repair, which is harder to arrange from abroad. Confirm the warranty, who services the system, and revision terms in writing before you commit.
