A body lift is one of the largest cosmetic operations, with long scars and a high rate of wound problems. Price is the smallest part of this choice.
Quick answer

Is going abroad worth it?

In the UK a body lift commonly costs between about 8,000 and 18,000 pounds once fees are included, while abroad all in packages often run lower, around 5,000 to 13,000 US dollars. The saving can be real, but a body lift is a major operation with long scars and frequent wound problems, so the price should be the last thing you weigh.

All figures are indicative ranges from published clinic and consumer sources, reviewed June 2025. They are not quotes. What you pay depends on the extent of surgery, whether liposuction is combined, and what a package includes.

What you really pay

The price in context.

Abroad often runs below UK and United States pricing for comparable work, largely because of lower labour and facility costs, not lower quality by default.

UK private8,000 to 18,000GBP, with fees
United Statesabout 11,000USD, surgeon fee only

Indicative ranges, reviewed June 2025. Not quotes. The United States figure is an average surgeon fee from a professional body and excludes anaesthesia and facility fees, so the real total runs much higher.

What drives the price

Why quotes vary so widely.

The extent of surgery is the biggest factor. A lower body lift, sometimes called a belt lipectomy, circles the waist to address the abdomen, hips, outer thighs, and buttocks. An upper body lift, or a full body lift combining both, is a larger operation and costs more. The more skin to remove and the more areas treated, the longer and more complex the surgery.

Other factors. Whether liposuction is combined, the surgeon's experience, the anaesthetic, the facility, the length of hospital stay, and the city all move the figure. Capitals and major cities sit at the higher end.

Package inclusions. Abroad, a headline price may include hospital time, hotel, transfers, and garments, or it may not. Compare only once you know exactly what each quote covers and what is billed as an extra.

The hidden costs

What the quote omits.

Price the whole trip and a slow, complication prone recovery, not just the line on the quote.

A body lift is one of the largest cosmetic operations, and recovery is demanding. Budget for several weeks off work, replacement compression garments, prescriptions, flights, and extra hotel nights. Wound problems are common after this surgery, so set money aside for the real possibility of extra wound care, a return trip, or a revision, all harder to manage once you are home.

Standard travel insurance rarely covers elective surgery or its complications, so consider dedicated cover. A quote far below the rest of the market is a reason to ask who operates and what is included, not a bargain to grab.

Common questions

The things everyone asks.

How much does a body lift cost abroad?

Indicative all in packages abroad commonly run around 5,000 to 13,000 US dollars, depending on whether it is a lower, upper, or full body lift and how much tissue is removed. These are indicative figures reviewed June 2025, not quotes.

How much is a body lift in the UK?

UK private prices commonly fall between about 8,000 and 18,000 pounds once fees are included, with larger full body lifts and London clinics at the higher end.

Why is a body lift cheaper abroad?

Mainly lower labour and facility costs and a competitive market, not lower quality by default. A price far below the rest of the market is a reason to ask harder questions, not to celebrate.

What changes the price most?

The extent of surgery. A lower body lift costs less than a full body lift that also addresses the upper body, and combining liposuction adds to the total.

What hidden costs should I budget for?

Flights and extra hotel nights, garments, time off work of several weeks, and possible extra wound care or revision, since travel insurance rarely covers elective surgery or its complications.
